Misao is the daughter of the
leader of Oniwabanshu, a powerful fighting group. Her father died
when she was young, and the other Oniwabanshu members raised her.
Since all they knew was how to fight, they taught Misao how to
fight. When the leaders of the Oniwabanshu took off on a mission,
Misao (who was in love with the leader Aoshi) went out to look for them
and during a robbery attempt, she bumped into Kenshin.
Because of her upbringing, Misao's a bit of a tomboy. Despite that, she can be quite a riot. She does seem to be a bit out there, she's mature enough to handle herself and responsible enough to watch over the Oniwabanshu.
