Masahara Morimoto at Nobu
Record: 16-6-1 ( 69.5% Winning Percentage)
Masahara Morimoto is the third Iron Chef Japanese, replacing the retired Koumei Nakamura. He wears a silver outfit, with an American flag on the back of it. He originally was gonna be a baseball player. But an injury set that back, and he instead started out as a sushi chef. Morimoto spent most of his culinary career in the United States, spending much of it at Nobu in NYC. He left in November of last year, and is currently in the process of opening his own place "Morimoto Masaharu" in Philadelphia. He also has plans on opening restaurants in both Los Angeles and NYC.
Morimoto's best known for his style of cooking, which the show dubs as "Neo-Japanese". He's basically used anything he can get his hands on to cook, with wonderful results. It's a joy watching him because you can't predict what he'll do next (Although one particular challenger, Marco Molinari, had even Morimoto in a daze about his pasta-making techniques).
